The good news here is that there is no specific piece of software required by any student in the school that isn't free.
Office and productivity suits such as GAFE (Google apps for Education) and Open Office are completely free and an excellent alternative to Microsoft Office. From the commencement of 2015 all students will be asked to utilise their Google Drive (Free unlimited cloud storage from Google). This is discussed in greater detail in another section of this website. There are a myriad of free apps for iPads and Android devices and with the proliferation of Web 2.0 applications there really isn't any need to purchase expensive software for computers. In addition to productivity software, we will encourage students to use free, web based applications for sound editing, video editing, image editing and even web design If you purchase a Macbook or iPad , this comes standard with its own productivity suite, video, photo and sound editing software. There are also many free alternatives to paid antivirus software such as AVG Antivirus for Windows and Mac OS Teachers will advise students of the software required for various subjects early in Term 1. Get Microsoft Office 365 FreeThe school has registered our staff and students to receive a copy of the Microsoft’s productivity suite Office 365.
