Digital Citizenship
At Christian Brothers' High School Lewisham we actively promote the safe and responsible use of information and communication technology both at school and at home. As a result, we are actively developing and seeking to implement programs in Digital Citizenship. This page contains information and links to valuable online resources for teachers, students and parents.
The term Digital Citizenship refers to the ways in which the vast array of behaviour on the web should be conducted. Being a good digital citizen means getting the best out of the internet by creating, participating and sharing content. To be a good Digital Citizen me ans understanding that everything that happens on the web leaves a 'digital footprint' and so the behaviour of individuals should be ethical and constructive. As Digital Citizens our boys must realise that not all web behaviour is ethical and moral and that they should take steps to protect themselves and others from on- line threats. So being a good digital citizen means getting the most out of the internet in a way that helps make the internet a better place for everyone. It is our shared responsibility to ensure students are made aware of not only what good Digital Citizenship means, but that it is practiced each and every day.
